CREWKERNE BUILDING REDEVELOPMENT

FROM August 2010 until early 2011, the Crewkerne Baptist Church building in North Street will be out of action while major redevelopment of the sanctuary area takes place, bringing the facilities into the 21st Century.

The website will give full details of venues for events during the week, but Sunday morning worship will take place in the Speedwell Hall, Abbey Street from August 1st. This hall is even closer to the Abbey Street car park and less than 300 metres from the church building.

The Crewkerne and Misterton Baptist Church (CMBC) welcomes you to our website.

The CMBC website is a window through which you can see the life of this friendly Christian fellowship and find out more about its activities in the small Somerset town of Crewkerne and the neighbouring village of Misterton.

CMBC uses two church buildings: one situated in North Street, Crewkerne...

The Crewkerne and Misterton Baptist Church is one of the churches which serve the local community. It is a relatively small, welcoming and inclusive church which meets for worship both in Crewkerne (normally Sunday mornings) and Misterton (variable times) and which offers a number of activities on other days of the week.

Our regular congregation contains people from many backgrounds: locals and newcomers, retired or actively working, younger and older; some are lifelong Baptists, some are people from other denominational backgrounds and some are those for whom CMBC is their first spiritual home.

Our worship includes a mix of styles, and our music reflects both traditional and modern hymns and songs. Some services are distinctly contemporary in style, some are mainly formal and traditional; many services are a combination of these styles.

Our spiritual life includes a house group and regular hours of prayer.

We take our mission to the local community seriously, and have thriving kids’ clubs, a men’s group and a meeting for older ladies. We take services regularly in a local residential complex for elderly people.

We are a congregation which believes in being generous to God’s work both locally and overseas. Over 15% of our current income goes out in this way.

We are here for you! You will be very welcome.

See our Activities Page for a list of our regular Services and other activities.
